Leagoo M13 Hands-On

0

Leagoo has just launched the Leagoo M13, an affordable smartphone that’s the successor to the Leagoo M12. We got our hands on a unit and took a quick look at this device. Check it out!

The Leagoo M13 sports a display measuring 6.1 inches, with a resolution of 600 x 1280. A thick bezel surrounds the screen, with a drop notch at the center top, and a heftier chin. The waterdrop notch houses the 5MP front camera.

The device is constructed with plastic, with the rear housing pretty smooth to the touch. The unit we have on hand here takes a red-blue gradient color scheme, but there’s also another color option that takes on a black-violet gradient. Despite the plastic body, the device feels pretty solid in the hands.

On the rear, the M13 is equipped with dual rear cameras, composed a main 8MP shooter and a 2MP shooter. In between these cameras is the LED flash. The way Leagoo designed their camera and flash placement is interesting. At first, we thought it had three rear cameras but upon closer inspection, the flash sat in the middle instead. A fingerprint scanner also sits on the rear of the device.

One thing about the M13 is that it feels rather bulky in the hands, compared to most smartphones these days. That’s because the back cover can actually be taken off, revealing the removable battery, the Nano SIM card slots, and the dedicated micro SD card slot. You don’t see this much in recent devices.

// ambient mobile code

}else{
//ambient pc code
document.write(‘var _ase = _ase || [];_ase.push([“1476933336″,”1476933955”]);’);
}

The right side of the M13 doesn’t have anything on it, while on the left, sits the power button and the volume rocker. They’re both clicky and pretty easy to reach.

At the bottom, one can find the microUSB port and the speaker grilles.

Meanwhile, all alone up top is the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Leagoo M13 comes with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, expandable up to 128GB via its dedicated microSD slot. MT6761 runs as this smartphone’s processor, coupled with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU. Other features include a 3,000mAh battery capacity, WiFi, Bluetooth, and has Android 9 Pie as its operating system.
